Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning through Research
Rigorous MEL that shows what works, what doesn't, and why.
Our MEL Services
Monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) are essential components of any development program or intervention. They provide valuable information about the effectiveness and impact of a program, helping to inform decisions about future interventions.
Third-Party Evaluations
Third-party evaluations involve engaging an external agency to assess a program's performance and impact. We conduct independent reviews that provide an objective assessment of effectiveness — identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. They are particularly useful for large-scale programs involving multiple stakeholders and complex interventions.
Lot Quality Assessment Surveys
LQA surveys are rapid assessment tools used to monitor and evaluate program performance by sampling a small number of individuals or households on a specific indicator. They quickly assess impact and flag areas needing attention — ideal for rapidly evolving programs or those with limited MEL resources.
KAP Studies
Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices studies assess how individuals or communities understand and respond to a particular issue or intervention, using surveys, focus group discussions, or interviews. KAP studies identify gaps and inform targeted interventions — especially for health programs involving behavior change.
Household Surveys
Household surveys collect data on a range of indicators from representative samples. They measure program impact on outcomes such as health, education, or income, and provide detailed household-level information to design targeted interventions for large-scale programs.
Maternal & Child Health Program Development
Maternal and Child Health is a critical focus of our research practice — spanning prenatal care, maternal and child nutrition, immunization, and family planning. We design, implement, and evaluate programs to improve MCH outcomes, grounded in a deep understanding of local social, cultural, and economic contexts and built in collaboration with health workers, community leaders, and women's groups.
Policy Advice & Performance Evaluation
We support policymakers with research to inform decisions, analysis of existing policies, and recommendations for new ones — combining an understanding of the political landscape with a strong evidence base. Our performance evaluations rigorously assess the effectiveness of programs, policies, and interventions to continuously improve outcomes for women and children.
