    STEH

This week, SPHERE Pakistan, in coordination with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) MCH Project Punjab, and IRMNCH & NP, conducted a series of training of all 36 districts of Punjab on the use of HMIS (EMR) for Primary Health Facilities. The HMIS for Primary Health Facilities is an android based software developed by the HISDU, Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department and is implemented across all BHUs and RHCs of Punjab province. It captures all service delivery related elements of primary healthcare facilities including general OPD, Antenatal Care, Delivery, Post Natal Care, Family Planning services, Immunization services, Nutrition services, and medicine dispensation. It also covers medicine inventory, health insurance data sharing, laboratory services, and health council budget. Community based health services are also captured through the Lady Health Supervisors (LHS) module; and monitoring services are captured through the monitors' module.

SPHERE Pakistan supported in the development of training manuals in English and Urdu, and development of training videos; followed by training of master trainers from across the province. The training was spread over four days, 9 districts participating per day.

The training manual & videos are accessible at:

    English: https://lnkd.in/dt5Gh-vG

    Urdu: https://lnkd.in/dhr2wnT4

    Videos: https://lnkd.in/dHBeEMHU

It is hoped that these trainings will help the healthcare providers to record health information more efficiently and accurately.

SPHERE Pakistan team included Zainab Dawood, Amama Maqsood, Maira Pasha, Muhammad Uzair. Special thanks to Sidra Irfan for all her efforts and the virtual presence.

Thanks to the IRMNCH & NP team for facilitation during the trainings; and thanks to Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) MCH Project Punjab team Michiru Suda, Nadia Kiran, and others.
